Tipping in Restaurants, Bars, Cafes & Taxis - Middle East

Egypt – Tipping is integral to the Egyptian experience. Keep small increments of Egyptian currency - 1-Egyptian pound (LE) notes, 25 and 50 piastres - to tip bathroom attendants, museum guards and anyone who offers you services that you have requested. In restaurants, tip 10%. Taxi drivers do not receive tips above the agreed upon fare unless they have performed some additional service. Bellmen can receive up to LE5 per bag for good service. Tip bartenders around a $1 per drink.

Israel
– If service is not included in a restaurant bill, leave a tip of about 10 - 15%. Taxi drivers are not tipped.

Morocco – Tip 10% in Moroccan restaurants. 5-10 DH (dirham) is acceptable for bellmen and for people who guide you to your destination if you get lost. Round up taxi fares.

South Africa
– A 10% service charge is usually included in the bill. If not, tip that amount. Tip taxi drivers 10%.
