Tipping in Hotels

In general, tipping is practiced worldwide in hotels. Tip doormen and bellmen for bags – the equivalent of $2 per bag or a minimum of $5 for more than two. If a concierge makes a lot of reservations or does something unusual for you, tip anywhere from $10 - $50. In hotels with no concierge, you do not need to tip front desk attendants for basic services, unless they go out of the way in assisting you. Unless you are staying in a B&B, housekeepers should get a few dollars a day, left on the bed each morning unless there is no tipping practiced in a country (such as Iceland, South Korea or Japan).
