With the continued strength of the British pound, it is always a challenge to eat well for less in London. This guide will help you find the best deals, from ethnic eats to gastropubs to Michelin-star dining. One alternative is to go ethnic – the city’s diversity means you can have excellent Indian, Chinese or Middle Eastern food. You can also stop by one of the city’s ubiquitous pubs, though food quality there can vary widely. In recent years, some well known chefs have revitalized pubs and these are a great option, especially if you are in up and coming East London. You can also experience high-end Michelin star dining from such notables as Gordon Ramsay and Fergus Henderson thanks to affordable prix-fixe lunch menus. All prices below are inclusive of drinks except where noted. Restaurants often add a service charge of 10% - 12.5%. If not, tip about 10% of the bill, more on the higher end. |
